Another picture taken in the woods behind our home. Although people love to make fun of New Jersey, the northern part of the state is really very beautiful, and when this picture was taken, even more so. Our house was on a rural route in the northernmost part of the state; some wooded property butted up against our house. I spent a lot of time exploring those woods with my dog Corky.

This scene should explain a lot of why I haven't ever really liked California, and why I've talked for years about moving to Vermont. (Why not go back to Jersey? Too humid.) Yes, there are areas like this in California, but you can't live in them unless you want to be hours away from anything else. Plus, there are just too many people taking advantage of the beautiful weather out here.
